Brief description of available position

COR offers personalized support services ranging from Supportive Living to Daytime Programs. Supportive Living encompasses a wide range of in-home support based on individual needs, personal lifestyle preferences, community norms and equality of citizenship; while COR’s Daytime Program is primarily community based and strives to meet the personal goals and objectives of the individuals served through utilizing ordinary services and businesses for options and safety nets. Each of COR’s programs vary as they are specifically tailored to the individuals in which COR serves.

Experience and Qualifications

No Experience Required – Just a Big Heart! COR offers a comprehensive on-the-job training program. Minimal requirements for employment include: • Interest in the commitment to serve and improve the quality of life for individuals with intellectual or physical disabilities. • Kind, compassionate and caring. • Be of good moral character. • Criminal record check. • First Aid and CPR (Level C) certified. • Valid Driver’s License (preferred). • Be able to work evenings and weekends. A Support Person must also fulfill the following requirements: • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age. • Demonstrate the ability to communicate adequately in order to: o Complete required documentation. o Follow oral or written instructions. • Demonstrate the ability to provide support according to the individual’s plan. • Demonstrate willingness to accept supervision. • Demonstrate an interest in and empathy for individuals. A Support Person must have an interest in expanding their knowledge of intellectual disabilities, mental illness, human behavior, Gentle Teaching, quality of life and relationships. A Support Person must have the ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with fellow Support Personnel, the individual being served and their personal and professional networks. A Support Person must have maturity and judgment to work with materials of a confidential nature.
