Position Title: Metalwork Supervisor - Permanent, Full-Time

Brief description of available position
The Metalwork Supervisor, reporting to the Metalwork Senior Supervisor, will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation of the Metalwork Department, including assisting with training, supervision, and production.
Duties include:
Supervising, performing, and monitoring work skills training for area clients on a daily basis
Providing supervision, training, and delegation of duties to area staff
Assisting in the planning, forecasting, and scheduling of area production to ensure contract deadlines are met.
Performing production activities and operate area equipment as required
Responsible for product quality, production efficiency, and safe working conditions for area staff and clients
Performing area shipping and receiving duties
Assuming Senior Supervisor’s duties and responsibilities in their absence
Other duties as assigned by Senior Supervisor
Experience and Qualifications
Grade 12 Education
Journey person in industrial mechanics or welding preferred; will consider related experience and training
Working knowledge of good manufacturing practices, production scheduling, and materials management would be an asset
Supervisory experience preferred
Effective organizational and communication skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with customers, suppliers, staff, and clients
WHMIS and Standard First Aid are considered assets
The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory police record checks
Compensation Information
Pay Class 16 (range of $3,196 to $3,980 per month) plus comprehensive benefit package
