Position Title: Partners in Employment Supervisor - Temporary, Full-Time

Brief description of available position

This position is Temporary, Full time (September 1, 2010 to August 31, 2011).

Responsible for the operations of the Partners in Employment program by providing leadership and direction to the staff and coordinating career and employment services for participants.  Duties include:

Coordinate client services and ensure effective case management occurs, including: intake applications, developing client action plans, negotiating appropriate employment placements, ongoing support and follow up to ensure client’s vocational goals and employment needs are met.

Provide direct and indirect supervision of staff and evaluations to meet service objectives and monitor performance.

Developing and preparing proposals, financial reports, client information and required evaluations for funding agencies and Council.

Monitor expenses of the program, prepare claim forms and prepare program status reports.

Ensure that employer contacts and visits are conducted and community resources are developed to market the service and to identify potential work experiences and employment opportunities.

Monitor client files and information, participant programs, employer contacts and other information, to ensure accurate records are kept.

Maintain constructive working relationships and open communication with other staff, external agencies and the business community to enhance program goals.

Coordinate promotional activities, information events, media exposure and newsletters to promote the services and increase awareness of the program.

Experience and Qualifications

Degree in Human Services field (such as Social Work) and/or two years experience coordinating employment or vocational services

Experience working with people with disabilities and knowledge of training and employment issues they face

Two years experience supervising staff 

Effective written and verbal communication skills

Time management and organizational skills

Knowledge of Labour Standards and Human Rights

Valid drivers license and use of a personal vehicle

The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory police record checks

Compensation Information

Pay Class 16 (range of $3,196 to $3,980 per month)
