Training Opportunities

If you are considering a career supporting people with disabilities, watch this clip to learn more about Professional Development from people who work for SARC Member Agencies in this sector.

Many people who work in this sector look at further training opportunities.  The type of training you need depends on your current qualifications and experience, what role you are in, and the participants that you are working with.

Most agencies provide on-the-job training and on-site mentor based programs, such as Basic Skills Training.  By completing Basic Skills Training, you can achieve 4 course credits towards the Disability Support Worker Certificate Program through Saskatchewan Polytechnic.  Currently, there are bursaries available to SARC Member Agency employees for some of these programs.

Visit Learning Central to learn more about conferences and training opportunities offered by SARC.
