Day Program Manager - BRIDGE North Battleford - Battlefords Residential Services Inc

Battlefords Resdiential Services Inc. is currently hiring for the position of Day Program Manager, BRIDGE.


The hours of work for the Manager are Monday to Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. with the hours being flexible enough to accommodate the needs of the clients enrolled in the program and to allow for his/her attendance at meetings that cannot be scheduled during work hours.

RATE OF PAY - $45,052 - $55,620 per year with commencement based on education and experience. 


  • Establishes a comfortable efficient schedule with the clients’ needs and safety being the first priority.
  • Purchases recreation and office supplies.
  • Keeps accounts of all the above purchasing to be submitted monthly to the Executive Assistant.
  • Regularly checks the facility for possible hazards to the clients, staff and visitors.
  • Ensures the yard is maintained.
  • Ensures all equipment is kept in good working order and to advise Executive Director/Associate Executive Director when repairs are necessary.
  • Ensures the facility meets standards set by the Community Health Inspector, Fire Inspector and Community Living Services Delivery.



  • In conjunction with the Executive Director/Associate Executive Director, Co-ordinator of Program Services and Community Living Service Division to set up programs geared to the individual needs of the clients and to carry out any Person Centered Plans developed for the clients in co‑operation with Community Living Service Division.
  • Keep a daily record of events taking place in the program.
  • Transports clients to various places as required.
  • Ensures the recommendations made by the Doctors, Physiotherapists, Psychologists etc. are carried out as required.
  • Assumes responsibility for administering all medications and ensures the medication policy is followed by staff in the administration of medication.
  • To notify the client’s residence and the Co-ordinator of Program Services, of any illness, problems or medication errors.
  • Completes the accounting of each client's recreational expenditures.
  • Ensures the clients are provided with appropriate personal care.
  • To be directly involved in the decision to admit or discharge a client to or from the BRIDGE Program.
  • To welcome the next of kin when they visit and keep them informed as to the well being of the client(s) concerned.
  • Reports regularly to the Executive Director/AED as to the welfare of the clients, happenings in the program, incidents and accidents.
  • Assists each client to develop to their maximum potential.
  • Plans recreational, vocational and relaxation programs in group and one to one situations to meet the needs of the clients.




  • The Manager is responsible for the supervision of the staff and the operations of the program.
  • In conjunction with the Executive Director/Associate Executive Director he/she will be involved in the hiring of new staff members including the interviewing process.
  • Orientates new staff which includes a tour of the facility, introduction of clients and staff, emergency procedures, the routine in the program, policies and procedures involved with medication administration, the effects of the medications, an overview of each individual client, IBEX Payroll System and Occupational Health and Safety Policies.
  • To keep staff informed regarding any changes in the clients, their medications, procedures and programs involving the clients and to encourage the staff to become familiar with each client's file.
  • Conducts staff meetings regularly, addressing any concerns of the staff members and/or Executive Director/Associate Executive Director. The Executive Director/AED and the Co-ordinator of Program Services are to be invited to attend these meetings. Appoints a secretary at these meetings so that records can be maintained and reviewed.
  • Carries out the directives and suggestions made by the Board of Directors/Executive Director/Associate Executive Director/Co-ordinator of Program Services.
  • Attends seminars and educational conferences as offered whenever possible.
  • Completes the required scheduling and approvals on IBEX.
  • Arranges for the relief positions to be filled according to policy and to arrange for relief staff to cover when a staff is sick, on vacation/leave or unable to work. 
  • Monitors, supervises and evaluates staff at the mid-point of their probation period, the completion of their probation period and thereafter on an annual basis. Provides direction and correction as required.



  • The Manager is responsible for taking weekend and holiday on-call for the agency as scheduled/required.



  • Must have an acceptable combination of training and experience in working with persons who are intellectually disabled and who present challenging behaviours.
  • Must have leadership skills with the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Must have strong communication, organizational, interpersonal, managerial skills.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable.
  • Must be progressive, innovative, motivated with a positive outlook.
  • Must have CPR and 1st Aide Certificates.
  • Level I & II Community Living Service Delivery, TLR and PART training preferred, but will be provided by the agency.
  • Knowledge of behavioural programming (development and implementation).



  • Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search.
  • Valid Driver’s license and ability to drive Handibus.
