Daytime Support Worker Saskatoon - L'Arche Saskatoon Inc.

L'Arche Saskatoon is part of an international federation of L'Arche communities founded in 1964 by Canadian humanitarian and social visionary Jean Vanier.  In over 140 L'Arche communities around the world, people with and without intellectual disabilities share life together in a spirit of welcome, mutuality, and celebration. 

L’Arche Saskatoon is seeking a responsible, caring, and open-minded individual to support one of our adults with an intellectual disability during the day. This position is a seven month position covering a maternity leave, from October 25, 2017 to May, 18, 2018. The position is 30 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm. 

Relevant experience and training is an asset; however, no prior education or experience is necessary.  Training is provided upon arrival.

Successful applicants will have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and clear criminal record check.

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

- Supporting the individual to enjoy activities and opportunities in the community and in their home,
- Driving the individual in one of the homes vehicle.
- Providing support and assistance to the individual in all aspects of daily living, including assistance with hygiene, medication administration, and personal care.
- Supporting the individual through personal and emotional challenges with sensitivity and respect.
- Assisting with the ongoing upkeep of the L’Arche home, including cleaning and laundry.
